There are rumors of a new progression server openning in a couple months. There are threads in the members area but thought I'd start one here for former members that don't have access anymore.

Could be alot fun, we are all older and wiser, having done such a server before it would be ever so nice to know if any of noxious are thinking of trying it. This second time around its really going be about friends to me if I decide to give it a go. I proved to myself last time I could play with the big boys some. Got abit carried away trying stay up on each new expansion that seemed to hit way too fast. I think I got pretty much all of that out of my system.

Wow how long has this server been out? I'm spazzing here. Original orc and goblin models. Boats, old freeport! I think I saw Lauranista passing by in Oasis. If they can't match these things in the next progressive server and take out the huge game breaking items they should not even bother. The populace on this server seems really good. Is it just me or are the mobs running at very fast rate? Seems more hardcore then even the original release.

My guess would be you're running slow. Razz

I remember how slow I felt when I made a new toon and had to deal with run speed 0.

How graphics intensive is the project1999 engine? I'm on a laptop these days w/o a graphics card. I am curious if it would run old EQ?

graphics are very 11 years ago..not intensive at all. i could prolly run 8 clients on my pc at once and still defrag the hard drive.

dont ask anymore questions Fieldy...go download and get in game!

and yeah the run rate is a little faster there.

btw im playing Tenebrae a tier'dal cleric to run with Cyn who is playing Crimsonrain a tier'dal mage, but ill prolly go back to the Nihilist when her school starts back up.

I don't have a Titanium copy yet. If you see Fieldmedic show up you'll know I made it.

How classic is it? Are the optional zones active? Like HPH and Najena? Do the mages get the pet boosting items that are part of the epics? I don't remember if the epic 1.0 was in classic or if it was added in optional. Classic Splitpaw sounds like fun! That was 18+ with classic gear? Man...the memories are flodding in.

I assume CT is dropping Ravenscale and Rubicite? I never made it in there before they revamped it.

Also, is it just Classic zones? I've heard it's up through Scars of Velious but that may have been that pipe dream some were having of SOE doing it that way for a new progression server. I'd like a run or 100 runs through original PoMischief.

PoFear would be active if optional zones are up. Plane of Air....all those useless drops in current EQ would be sweet drops in p1999. I could be the purple dwarf cleric!

Level max is 50? I should just go look it up, hehe.

they are adding content on the same time table as EQ was originally...PoSky opened last week, and i think Kunark is going to open in a few months if they get all the kinks ironed out. CT is old style but they have already taken out rubicite (i came in to late for that as well Sad ) yes fear is in and yes the gear is used.

The server will only go to Velious and then they are talking about branching off and going in the direction they felt that Verant would have taken the game (not to the moon with cats).

Yeah the boards confirmed the mob run speed is faster for this emu to run right. Quite a challenge just starting out. Actually I'm getting the beatdown even as a druid, hopefully level 14 and up is abit more kind if I ever get there! lol
