Noxious
We expect all members to respect the rules of Everquest. No member shall be involved in stealing, cheating, training, or any other dishonorable act. Anything done to tarnish the reputation of the guild and its members will result in a warning. Dismissal from the guild is possible if the problem persists.
You will be expected to treat all fellow guild members with respect. no arguing or fighting in guild chat permitted. If you need to discuss something take it to tells or contact an officer.
All problems will be dealt with accordingly and fairly.
In other words, play nice, have fun, and respect everyone.

C.) Mentors: Mentors are essentially the big brother/sister to the rest of the members of a specific class. Every class will have a mentor, and they will be designated as the moderator for their specific class forum. Mentors are there to help answer questions about the class, to track who is in need of which spells, gear, or where class members are on epic progress.
These distinguished non officers ably look after their own, and can be relied upon to distribute class items and spells to where they are best utilized within the guild. They may also be used for initial step of resolving a problem, that often times can be solved at this level, before sending it up to an officer.
D.) Members: are the majority of the guild, these guildmates are to read the guild charter rules and make sure they know what is expected of them.
II. Raid Policy
A.) Raiding is not mandatory for the most part, but if you are logged in you are encouraged to be at the raid. For specific target boss mobs, if the people online but not at the raid will make the difference for a significant encounter, you will be directed to come and help with that encounter for the good of the guild.
B.) If you have to leave in the middle of a raid let one of the leaders know ahead of time.
C.) Raid leaders are the only ones to be talking in Raid Speak. Raid leaders can also assign people to announce certain things in Raid Speak during the raid.
D.) All other chat during raids will be in guild chat or separate channels.
E.) All guild members who attend a raid are expected to listen to the raid leaders. Not following instructions will get you a warning, and if you continue to not pay attention to directions, you will be removed from the raid.
III. Loot Policy
We will be using our own DKP policy, so make sure you know how it works.
A. Gaining points
1.) 4 points will be awarded at the completion of rally time/start of the raid. This covers the first hour of the raid. This is done for 2 reasons:
a.) This is to reward people for attending, and showing up to the raid on time.
b.) It is to discourage folks from staying away from a raid, say Fear for example, for the initial break-in/work, only to join later when it is easier, or when the raid gets close to a certain sought after mob.
2.) 3 points per hour after the first(hours will be rounded up or down if not ended right on the hour)
3.) 4 points will be awarded at the end of the raid for the final hour. This balances out the start time bonus and accomodates people who can never be at the start time due to work schedule, and rewards those who stay to the end in a potentially long raid.
4.) Boxing character policy: Boxing will only be allowed on certain raids, and you should never box a character during a raid unless you are fully sure you can handle them both for that event. All dkp earned will be given to your Main whether it is present or not. Bots, boxs and alts may bid alt dkp from there owners dkp account, but no Alt bid will ever trump a main bid of 1dkp. Only mains earn dkp, and you are only allowed one main in Noxious.
5.) All main characters will receive 10 starter DKP points after tagging for learning how to check their points and simply sending a PM to a person administering DKP asking for said 10 starter points. This is done to give people some "starting cash" so to speak, as well as encouraging use of the site.
B. Bids
1.) Minimum bid on items will be one point.
2.) The minimum incremental raise will be 5 dkp. You must bid 5 or more higher than the previous bid after the initial jump from 1 to 5. 1,5,10,15, etc.
3.) Highest bid will win the item
4.) The raid leader or a designated officer will keep track of bids.
5.) Bids may not be retracted. Once you bid, if you are the highest bidder, you have spent those points. So be careful and know what you are bidding on.
C. Bidding Process
1.) Items will drop and be linked over raid chat.
2.) Anyone that can use the item that is interested in bidding will make their bid once the officer has opened bidding for the item. *changed*
Please use Raid Speak to place your bids.
3.) The officer will allow a roughly 30 second window for bids. They will give a final call for the item, and then end bidding. High bid gets the item.
4.) Any late or last second bids that come after the text of the officer closing bidding will be disregarded.
5.) Alts are only eligible to bid on items if no mains at the raid need or want the item in question. Main char bids always trump alts and if a main character needs an item, all alt bids are immediately discarded as if they never happened.
D. Keeping track of points
1.) Points will be tracked by raid officers and will be updated
2.) Raid dumps will be taken at the end of rally time/start of the raid. Members present will recieve credit for raid start DKP.
3.) If you arrive late, but within 10 minutes of the start of the raid, contact an officer, and with his discretion you be be added to raid start log. Those arriving later than 10 minutes will have to wait until the next hourly raid dump to begin recieving DKP credit, however they will still be eligible to bid on dropped items, at the discretion of the raid leader/officers.
4.) You are expected to know your current point total before a raid begins. if you are unsure, contact an officer to verify. Do NOT contact the raid leader, he is busy.
5.) Points will be tracked by, and attributed to, your main character. If you have an alt at a raid and do end up bidding on and winning an item, the points spent by your alt will be deducted from your main characters DKP point total.
E. Losing Points
1.) Failure to follow raid directions can lead to DKP reduction at the discretion of the officers.
2.) Qutting the guild usually forfeits any unspent DKP.
IV. Characters/ Alts
1.)Alternate characters are allowed in this guild. We ask though, that you focus on your main and keep them at our average levels. If you are on an alt and a raid is called, we will expect that you will log in your main to help the guild out. In summary, focus on your mains, but feel free to make an alt if you are on par with the guild.
2.) We ask that you get an alt to level 20 before asking for a guild tag for that alt. We do this to ensure that you are reasonably sure you will play this alt a bit, and not let a low level character lanquish because you changed your mind, or do not enjoy them anymore.
3.) We ask that you log in your characters, main and alt, at least once a month. This gives us a better idea of who is and isn't active. And until the guild manager gets fixed, if ever, this is the best way to identify that.
4.) Characters that have not logged into the game for over a month, and have not given advance notice that they will be away for an extended time, will be removed. A simple post of advance notice of impending RL, will let us all know that you are busy and plan on getting back to us, and just simply haven't forgotten us or moved on to something else.
5.) Characters that do get deguilded because of time away/no notice, are eligible to be re-invited as long as they contact an officer upon their return; and provided that they are in good standing.
V. Teamspeak/Ventrillo
Noxious is a teamspeak-free guild. Out of game voiceover systems are frowned upon and discouraged. The guild will not be utilizing any such server. Repeated mention and encouragement of use of a voice chat program like Teamspeak will result in rapid removal from the guild. This is important to us and non-negotiable. This is to prevent cliques, or a rift from developing between members that use chat devices, and those that do not. Text based communication worked fine for EQ the first time around, and will do so again for us on the Combine.
VI. Roleplay/Anon
The leadership asks that you refrain from the practice of Anon. We are proud to have you in the guild, and hope you are proud to be here too. It is very much understood why some people do not want their class or level show, constantly being pestered for a port, or a res, or buffs, etc. However, roleplay mode handles this issue just fine, and continues to hide your vital info just as anon would, but still shows your guild tag. Going anon really only makes the officers curious as to your motive for anon, and whether you are doing questionable behavior with the hope of hiding your guild tag. Please do not utilize anon mode. However, until noted otherwise, please use /role to hide our current raid targets from any potential competition.
VII. Guild Chat
Noxious is a family raiding guild, with a heavy emphasis on family. We maintain a mature guild chat, and by that I do not mean adult content, I mean wholesome. We have a wide variety of people as members, some of them minors, some of them easily offended. We refrain from filling guild chat with profanity or arguementive subjects. Some debate is good, but we try to steer clear of hot topics like religion, politics, etc. All subjects like that are best brought to the boards here for a thorough and more free discussion.
We understand that sometimes things happen in game to upset you, and sometimes you just have to vent. No one better to listen to your grievences then friends. So let it out, be done with it, and then get the chat back on track. For the most part guild chat is pretty tame and relaxing, and we'd like to keep it that way.
Having had this debated before in guild circles, this previous thread may provide answers about guild chat.

If you have further questions after reading that thread, feel free to contact a guild officer recieve further insight and information.
This guild charter can and will be updated regularly as we progress through our time together. Make sure you check it often!! |
